It is normal for children to sustain injuries while indulging in physical activities and sports. Each time a fracture occurs, the child’s bone is broken either partially or completely. Boys are more likely to sustain fractures than girls. Child bone is differ from adult in terms of growth and they behave differently. Pain, swelling, crepitation, tenderness, deformity commonly seen after fracture. Redness, bruising may present over the skin. Clinical examination along with X-ray of involved part gives us accurate diagnosis.


Although depend on type of fracture and bone involved, majority of fracture in children unite well with plaster. Sometime we need surgery to achieve best results. Children responds well with good union and good range of motion.
